Stanley Development Trust

Stanley Development Trust was formed in 2008 to improve the quality of life and environment of the village of Stanley and its surrounding area. The Strategic Aim of the Trust is to develop a vibrant and sustainable community. The themes supporting this Aim are: Improve Activities and Facilities, especially for Young People Conserve and Enhance the Environment and Heritage

West Stormont Woodland Group

West Stormont Woodland Group is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) formed with the specific aim of bringing Taymount Wood and Five Mile Wood into Community Ownership. In 2022, WSWG submitted a CATS Proposal for both woods with an ambitious programme of improvements and facilities for community benefit, including the Taymount Hub Flagship Project and the Five Mile Wood Woodland Observatory educational Flagship Project.

Stanley to Luncarty Active Travel Route

An online community consultation on two possible active travel routes linking Stanley and Luncarty was carried out in Spring 2021 to gather comments and suggestions from the local populace. A new route for walking, cycling and wheeling is being considered for residents and visitors north of Perth. The new path will provide better community links whilst allowing users to keep active and healthy.
